The Blount County Schools Family Resource Center is collecting items that will benefit our families when they fall on difficult times. Families in need can get food boxes, hygiene items, and household items from the FRC, as well as resources to help with other needs. Please see details in the attached images, including a list of items that they are collecting.
Our Eagles help with this collection every year, and this year we hope to do more than ever! Please send items with your students to be collected in their homeroom classes. The class who collects the most items by September 30th will win a Dunkin Donut breakfast for the whole class!

Remember that tomorrow (Friday, 9/5) is a Professional Development day for teachers, and Monday is Labor Day, so there will be no students on either of those days. We will see you all back on Tuesday, September 8th!

Reminder that picture day is Monday, August 31st. Proofs will be sent home with ordering information when they are received. All students will be photographed for the yearbook during this session. Makeup days will be announced for those who are absent.

Due to the passing of Dolly Parton, the crew from WBIR has decided to postpone our Cool Schools segment that was going to be filmed tomorrow morning.

Parents, please be advised that students are not allowed to bring toys to school, particularly squishies. We've been dealing with instances of loss and/or damage of the items that students are bringing, with the squishies creating a mess in the building as well as on the students.

Please see details below for information on boys and girls basketball tryouts next week.
Good morning and welcome back! Please see the attached afternoon pick up routes and morning drop off routes. For pickup, grades K-1 will be in the back, grades 2-3 in the front, and grades 4-5 in the horseshoe parking lot (see illustrations). All students K-5 will be dropped off in the back in the mornings.
Please work with your students on creating a drop-off routine so that they may begin walking into the building on their own. Kindergarteners can be walked in by parents through the stagger period, but we ask that all students be dropped off at the back and walking in on their own within the first couple of weeks of school. Please let us know if there are circumstances where we may need to be of assistance.
We're excited to have a building full of smiling faces today!

If you have not logged into PowerSchool with your student's snapcode (emailed to primary guardians earlier this month) and registered your returning student for the new school year, please do so today!
ALL students must go through the registration process for the new year prior to returning. If you've not received your student's snapcode, email Tiffany.Webb@Blountk12.org and she can help with that.
