I am the 5th grade math teacher at Lanier. I have a B.S in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee, a Master’s and ED.S. in Administration from LMU.  I have many years of teaching experience in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at LES.  I am married, and we have two children.

Ms. Janet Morris

My name is Janet Morris, and I am the 5th grade ELA Teacher. Not only is this my first year of teaching, but it is my second career. I had gone to night school at Tennessee Wesleyan College and graduated in 1994 with a BA degree in business. Three years ago, with the encouragement of my children, I decided to make a dream come true. I enrolled at South College and started taking the necessary classes to obtain my teaching certification. While working on my degree, I had the opportunity to take a job at Lanier Elementary as a teaching assistant. When I walked across the stage June 2022 to receive my MEd, there are no words that can express the joy and sense of accomplishment that I felt.

I am married to my best friend, and we have four kids. I obtained two master degrees and an educational specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University.
