My name is Dionsela Brown (Ms. Dion). I was born and raised in a small town in the mountains in La Grita, Venezuela. I went to elementary and high school in the same town. At the age of seventeen, my family moved to San Cristóbal city two hours from my home town. There I attended the University of Los Andes, where I earned my degree in education. I then spent the next seventeen years teaching students at two different elementary schools. In 1999 I met my husband and moved to the United States. In 2005 I began teaching as a teacher assistant here at Lanier Elementary School where I enjoy my life doing what I love to do which is teaching children.

I have been married to my husband for many years, and we have two smart girls that we adore. The one thing that I love about my job is the everyday interaction with the students at Lanier. They amaze me everyday in how eager they are willing to excel even if the subject is difficult for them. "You can really see them trying to understand so they can become better than they were the day before."

My family moved into the Lanier Community many years ago. I have worked with different grade levels at Lanier.  I am thankful for Jesus, who provides our needs every day!  Without Him I would be nothing.

Hey all! My name is Dan McDonald and I am a retired high school English/6th grade science teacher of 29 1/2 years. I attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga from 1986-1992. I currently live in Maryville with my wife and enjoy drinking chai and watching the sunrise and sunset over our 16 acre property while the wild deer and turkey roam across the rolling hills. Lanier Elementary is now my heart as I am able to assist teachers as I continue using my teaching abilities.
